Vancouver Wedding Photography Locations

As a wedding photographer in Vancouver, I feel blessed that I live in BC, Canada. Not only are my clients awesome, but the engagement and wedding photography locations in Vancouver are simply epic. We have it all from urban cityscapes to rustic parks to scenic mountains and lakes. Vancouver is a truly beautiful area because it is ideal for engagement and wedding photoshoots.

If you are planning a photo session I’d like to share my favourite places to take photos of newly engaged love birds. I have engagement and wedding packages that can be customized to get breathtaking images you will treasure forever. Take a look at my list and let me know if you want to go exploring during a fun and natural photoshoot that will be creative and spontaneous.

Iconic Stanley Park For Photo Sessions

Stanley Park with the stunning backdrop of Burrard Inlet and English Bay is one of my favourite places to photograph newlyengaged couples. This 405-hectare public park is a green oasis of prettiness with many garden areas including the romantic rose garden. Also, there is a historic lighthouse that is gorgeous for photos.

Gastown In Downtown Vancouver

The perfect mix of urban charm can be found in the chic downtown area of Gastown. It is the oldest neighbourhood in Vancouver and has trendy shopping areas, historic features and immaculate Victorian architecture. Here we can get a diverse collection of images that are authentic, fun-loving and romantic.

Wedding Photo Location at Sea To Sky Gondola

If you are up for a little adventure then let’s shoot at the Sea To Sky Gondola. It is one of the most beautiful wedding photo locations in close proximity to Vancouver. The views are dramatic and awe-inspiring from the gondolas and suspension bridge. Even if you are not comfortable with heights at least you have your partner’s hand to hold onto. Your wedding photographer in Vancouver is going to look after you tooThe mountains are quite breathtaking and these photos will be a special memory of a fun photoshoot that included an experience like no other.

Whytecliff Park

If you like the idea of taking photos on the beach you couldn’t hope for a more magnificent location than Whytecliff Park. As ocean-side wedding photography locations go this is my top pick for Vancouver. It is a great place to document your love story. Sunrise and sunset is an especially wonderful time of day to capture shots of you strolling hand-in-hand along the beach and walking trails. This pretty place is a favourite for wedding photographers in Vancouver who are inspired by the natural beauty of Whytecliff Park.

Fort Langley For Intimate Engagement Photos

When I discovered this quaint village area I was enchanted by the sights and scenes of this national historic site. The architecture is so well-preserved and there are adorable corners dotted all over the place. Campbell Valley Park is a must if you love colourful barns and rustic fields. In the golden hour, this area is dreamy. Of course, we can go inside the fort to capture some intimate couple shots as well. We are truly spoiled for choice around here!

Wedding Photoshoot at Deer Lake Park

Nature lovers adore Deer Lake Park for its winding walking trails, vast open spaces and massive lake with rustic lookout points. You might see some ducks or even a bobcat during our engagement or wedding photography session. There’s culture too with the Burnaby Art Gallery which has some nice architecture and flower gardens. It’s peaceful, pristine and perfect for an intimate photoshoot.

Rocky Point Park in Port Moody

Port Moody is known as the city of the arts. It is popular for bridal and engagement photography because of the picturesque pier, shady park area, wide-open green spaces and lovely waterfront. I could shoot here all day long and consider it one of my favourite engagement session locations in the city. I do film photography because of the locations like Rocky Point park.

Granville Island

I love the vibrant vibe of Granville Island and for engagement photography it is wonderful. Scenic water views, cityscapes and parks give us abundant opportunities to get a couple’s portraits to document your love. I love going here because the place is such a high-energy hub of life and culture with beautiful light and interesting features to discover.

Blackie Spit Park in Surrey

Blackie Spit Park is a postcard-perfect park in the Crescent Beach area of South Surrey. An impressive spit flows into Mud Bay at the mouth of Nicomekl River and has epic views of Mud Bay and the North Shore Mountains. The pier great for photos and a boardwalk is being built that will make it even more amazing. I have another great post about Wedding photography locations in Surrey here.

UBC in Vancouver (University of British Columbia)

My clients often ask me to shoot here because they have a connection to the university. Even if you don’t it makes a stunning location for wedding and engagement photography. The historical buildings are amazing but also there’s a blend of newer buildings if you want to blend old and new architecture. The campus also has lovely gardens, water features and pathways lined with trees. We can get an amazing collection of fun, romantic and authentic images at the University of British Colombia, like the engagement session for Garrett & Elena.
