Fraserview Community Hall Wedding

Intimate Fraserview Community Hall Wedding

Our first meeting with Ashlie & Martin was over a cup of coffee to discuss their wedding plans and ideas for the engagement session in Vancouver. Their wedding venue choice was Fraserview Community Hall located in Maple Ridge. I loved this place especially because of the wedding ceremony location which was just across the hall in the park. Serenity park is a local gem with a very traditional looking gazebo, lots of greenery and a classic bridge. This park is well maintained and turned out great for wedding photos. We did their wedding photos close to the sunset and they turned out great!

How They Met

They met at Kwantlen University in a first-year calculus course. Ashlie & Martin worked together in a group project and she made him do most of the work, and then ended up having to retake the course! Their first official date was back in May 2012 and being poor students, most of their dates were getting $1 pizza slices across from school and going to Denny’s to study.

How He Proposed

” He proposed on our 6th anniversary. I had already picked out my ring several months earlier, so I knew he had the ring and was just waiting for him to propose. We went out for dinner then when we came back home, he said he had another present for me and gave me the box! “

Community Hall Wedding Venue

Fraserview Banquet Hall is well-suited for weddings up-to 180 people. And what is great is that you get to use the Serenity park free of charge if you book this wedding venue for the reception. I enjoyed taking sunset wedding pictures in the Serenity park. It can be a fantastic additional engagement location for some couples who book engagement sessions with me in this area.

Fort Langley Engagement

This is not the first time I take my couples to this great place for engagement sessions. It has everything, from train tracks to graffiti artwork. Our 2 hours went very fast as we were chatting about their dating life, first dates and favourite things to do together.

I have learnt a few fun facts about them. They love making homemade pizza together, watching a good movie then baking something yummy for dessert. Another one was going to dinner at one of the nice restaurants at Disneyland right after they graduated from University. It was the first time they had vacationed together and gone out for a fancier dinner. How romantic is that!
